Kinesiology

Kinesiology is the science of human movement that seeks to improve an individual’s function.

What is kinesiology?

Kinesiology is the science of human movement that seeks to improve an individual’s function by university trained health care professionals. Kinesiologists design and implement exercise programs related to human performance, ergonomics, occupational health and safety, and lifestyle management. The scope of the kinesiologist may include injury rehabilitation and prevention, pain and chronic disease management, strength and athletic training, and education.

What to Expect

During your first visit, one of our kinesiologists will discuss the reason for your visit and review your health history. Next, they will complete an assessment to determine your current level of strength, range of motion, and muscle activation patterns. The therapist may also use functional movement screening to assist in their exam. The results of the assessment will be discussed with you and used to prescribe exercises that will assist in reaching your specific goals. An exercise home program will also be developed, practiced, and provided via email.
