Bodywork at Focus

What is a bodyworker?

A bodyworker is an unregistered massage practitioner within the holistic medicine category of massage. Bodyworkers are often used in stress management and developing mind-body connection. In some cases, bodyworkers may be registered massage therapy students part way through completing their formal training.

How is treatment with a bodyworker different from with an RMT?

While an RMT may target a specific injury, bodyworkers focus on massages that promote relaxation. Treatments often share the same techniques, but will be more focused on reducing stress showing through the body and creating space for the mind to rest.

Who would benefit from a session with a bodyworker?

As a massage with a bodyworker cannot be claimed under insurance,  an appointment with a bodyworker would be a great option for individuals who do not have extended health benefits, who have exhausted their health benefits coverage for the year, or someone still looking for an RMT that is the right fit for them.
